Very peaceful and quiet location with wide, far ranging views and excellent well supplying 4.5 m3 per hour of good, palatable water. A rarity in this area of Botswana.
A dream farm, suitable for the nature and animal lover in the midst of NG3, a vast wilderness area.
A variety of free roaming wildlife depending on the seasons. There is an abundance of habituated peaceful elephants, Oryx, Kudu, Wildebeest and Zebra.
Wild dogs, brown hyena, and the occasional leopard can be found together with the smaller mammals, honey badgers, mongoose, African Wildcat, Caracal, porcupine and Bat-eared foxes.
Bird life is good and we have recorded about 70 species of birds which include the raptors, Storks and other waterfowl, ground birds and the smaller species of insect and grass eaters. The occasional rare bird often strays into camp.
Current Botswana Category B tourism license- very difficult to get nowadays.
Camp is owned by a Botswana corporation.
Starlink system recently installed for camp communication. Very good internet!
BUILDINGS
Developments on site comprises of the main tent, 4 guest tents, viewing tower, water tower, modern kitchen, servants quarters, laundry area, solar power shack, electric fence surrounding the camp, land fence, swimming pool with a lounge and dining area.
A boma with fire place and braai, screened in with thatching lathes.
There is a simple greenhouse and fenced in orchard to grow organic herbs, tomatoes, green peppers and onions in season.
Lemon and lime trees about 4 years old not producing yet.
MAIN TENT:
Large round open building, canvas roof and walls with structural gum poles frames on wooden decking 1,5 meters off the ground.
The building has a comfortable seating area, informal reception area with a library, and a dining area with a view of the pan.
The adjoining pantry and prep area is separated by a partition and has a separate stove, refrigerator and a stainless steel prep area with a double sink that could be used for self-caterers.
Leading off the pantry is the camp kitchen. This is a fully equipped facility capable of high end catering as the camp guests expect.
It is a 4×6 m canvas and gum pole structure with modern appliances, gas range, two commercial size fridges, 3 chest freezers, steel storage cabinets and stainless steel countertops that enhance this airy space.
ACCOMMODATION:
4 extended Meru style tents on an elevated wooden deck. Comprises of verandah, bedroom with an attached en-suite bathroom featuring a shower cubicle, wash hand basin with hot and cold running water, and a flush toilet.
2 of the tents have a bathtub and shower.
POOL HOUSE:
A free standing building constructed from gum-poles and canvas with IBR sheeting roof and an oiled wooden decking. Electric lights and outlets with wifi expander.
The area consists of a roofed lounge area, unisex bathroom with shower, hand basin and flush toilet, a dining area with table and chairs, a bar area with separate seating, surrounding the swimming pool, with adjacent area for chaises and hammock. The pool has been partially covered using wooden thatching lathes to create shade. Pool pump is independently powered by solar power. There is a separate outdoor shower adjacent to the pool for people using the pool.
This is the coolest location in the camp in the heat of summer.
Viewing Tower
5 meter high raised tower constructed from gum-pole and wood with IBR roofing.
Proper access provided on wooden stairs. Ideal for game viewing at the water hole and concrete troughs. Equipped with solar lights on solar panel and battery that illuminates the water hole at night.
Laundry:
4×5 canvas mess tent on a wooden deck. The laundry area is equipped with 2 Samsung automatic washing machines, big stainless laundry wash tub with hot and cold water. Steel cabinets for towels and linens. Separate steel cabinets for uniforms.
Water system
Raised water storage tank:
Consist of a raised steel tower with a 5k liter water tank on a platform and a 5k liter storage tank on a concrete plinth. Water is pumped from borehole either by solar or equipped generator.
Water is plumbed to all accommodation and service areas. Pressure augmented by individual pumps in each tent.
Some of the garden has installed sprinklers.
The sewage and grey water is piped into septic tanks with adjacent soak aways.
Electric fence:
The camp, bore hole area and staff camp are all equipped with electric fence, solar charger and battery to deter elephant egress. The smaller animals can still enter through the fence.
Solar room:
A gumpole and canvas building with poured concrete floor.
The camp is equipped with solar power provided by solar panels, 10 KVA Freedom One LifePO4 battery and Victron inverter. Within the building is a storage area and a workbench and separate storage for electric supplies.
Operation of solar system can be monitored on your phone or remotely by tech in Maun.
