DESCRIPTION

This unique farm has a beautiful, rugged mountain range on the North Western side with seasonal rivers forming the Eastern and Western boundaries.

All infrastructures have been upgraded in relation to and careful planning of the environment, ecology and game counts.

Apart from being a hunting farm, this is also a breeding farm with projects focusing on the White Rhino, Sable, Buffalo, Tsetsebi, Gemsbok and Roan.

  1. LAYOUT:
  • THE LAND:

6200 Hectares bush veld.  But in extent 10 000 Ha on contours

 The entire Farm differentiates from mountainous to flat areas and down hill gorges, typical bushveld trees covering the entire Farm and iin rainy seasons becomes very bushy.  The undergrowth is mainly grass of various types, namely sour veld, blue buffalo, white buffalo and kweek.

Despite the dry seasons over the past few years, this farm is still in an excellent state due to good management and Game control.  This Farm has good carrying capacity between grass eaters and leaf eaters and the amount of animals can easily be increased by a further 50%.

RIVERS

The one river runs through the Eastern boundary of the farm for almost 22 kilometres.  Towards the centre of the farm is a river and on the western boundary another river.  All three (3) rivers are seasonal and only dry up in very dry seasons in certain areas

DAMS

There are three (3) three large soil dams on the 1 Section the 2 Section and at the main lodge or manager’s residence.

BOREHOLES

There are 6 (six) fully equipped boreholes ensuring water supply all over the farm for domestic use as well as the cement troughs and reservoir tanks for animal drinking water.

RESERVOIRS;

There are 13 (thirteen) 10 000 Litre plastic reservoir tanks and 5 (five) 5 000 litre plastic reservoir tanks erected on steel stands.

ELECTRICITY:

There are 5 (five) eskom supply points each with 50 kva 3 phase transformers at various strategic points on the farm.

CAMPS

The entire farm is divided into various camps, namely:

Hunting camp: ±2 000 hectares

Breeding camps – 3 (three) of 150 hectares each and 2 (two) of 300 hectares

One (1) larger camp for buffalo – ± 300 hectares

One (1) camp for breeding of Sable – ± 300 hectares

Buffalo quarantine gum pole boma

The remaining approximately 3 300 hectares is not divided into camps, mainly mountainous.

ROADS

All the internal roads have been built over the last 5 years as there were no decent roads in the past, at all.  The new roads of approximately 135 kilometres together with curbing on the side of the roads and storm eater drainage were constructed by engineering companies and built by professional road builders.

Apart from these constructed roads, secondary roads were also built in order to control driving on the farm and preventing the veld from being damaged in rainy seasons as well as in hunting season.

All these roads are exceptionally well maintained and are in good order.

BOUNDARY

The entire farm is bound by way of a 23 (twenty three) strand game fence approximately 2.7 meters in height and fitted with grid mesh where it crosses the rivers, preventing the fences from being washed away during high water levels.

All the breeding camps together with the hunting camp are electrified on both sides of the game fence.

The electricity supply on the fencing is by one (1) solar panel and standard eskom supply via the transformers.

There are 5 (five) different entrance gates of which the staff are only allowed to use.

The spectacular main entrance is of rock finish with large steel access gates and is controlled by appointed only.

MAIN LODGE / OWNER’S RESIDENCE

THE IMPROVEMENTS

A large single storey double volume rock finish residence fitted with timber framed glazed under a thatched roof overlooks the large soil dam and comprised of lounge cum dining room area, kitchen, two (2) bedrooms (both with en-suite bathrooms).

Further, to this improvement there is also a free standing entertainment room with full size snooker table, bar and big screen television.

Adjacent to each other are four (4) double en-suite cottages with large thatched patio area to the front thereof.

To the side of the main dwelling is a free standing thatch roofed building with the same finish as the main dwelling comprised of laundry and domestic’s accommodation.

There are three (3) lock-up garages adjacent to the main dwelling with timber roller shutter doors.  There are a further three (3) garages with no garages doors towards the rear of the main dwelling.

Upgraded laundry with fittings to accommodate all appliances.
